Ab Adams

Ab Adams was a structures superintendent for many years before coming to Ames. When the company he was previously working for shut down its Arizona operation, Ames Superintendent Doran Emery “gave me a call and put me to work!” he says.

Two Arizona projects that stand out in Ab’s tenure at Ames are the Ajo Way interchange project in Tucson and the SR 189 Design-Build project in Nogales. The Ajo Way project was an especially challenging job with a lot of retaining and sound walls and a tough schedule, he says.  

Ab most enjoyed meeting and working with the people at Ames, and his advice to his coworkers is to take care of your body—don’t tear it up!

“It’s been good working at Ames. You are treated like a person here.”

In retirement, he’s looking forward to fishing, hunting, and being outdoors.
