Joined Ames: 2002
Position: Crushing Superintendent, Western – Nevada

When Crushing Superintendent George Freestone joined the company in 2002, Ames had just one crusher. “Now there’s more than I can count, and the technology on the machines is amazing,” he says.

In his tenure of nearly 24 years, he traveled for Ames from job to job, bringing his wife, two kids, and a cat with him. Working out of the Western office, George says he truly loved his time with Ames.

“All the challenges and changes, we’ve faced together. A huge thanks for treating me like family and for always taking care of my family.”

His advice to his coworkers is to take care of Ames because they will take care of you.

George’s retirement plans include working on projects at his farm: building a new pump house and covered picnic area, re-siding the house, and helping his wife with her heirloom vegetable and flower business. He’s also looking forward to having more time to travel to visit family.
