May Is Mental Health Awareness Month

Sixty-Two: Ames News — delivered.

Welcome, May! As the weather gets warmer and flowers begin to bloom, now is a great time to focus on wellness, just in time for Mental Health Awareness Month.

Self-care is essential for overall well-being and mental health. Ames wants our team members to feel their best, so we partner with Lyra Health to offer resources for all coworkers and their families. Whether you’d like to focus on maintenance or targeted support, Lyra has a variety of resources to help!

With Lyra you can:

  • Conveniently book an in-person or virtual appointment online or over the phone. Signing up is completely confidential and no information is shared with Ames.
  • Access 10 complimentary coaching or therapy sessions, per person, per benefit year (your spouse and children are eligible to participate too!).
  • Get a personalized plan to help you meet your goals.
  • Access resources 24/7 with the Lyra Health mobile app.
  • Benefit from member resources such as mindful breathing meditations, on-demand courses, and virtual small-group listening and discussion sessions.

What are other ways we can participate in Mental Health Awareness Month?

Small actions can have a big impact. This month, take time to do something kind for others: hold the door open for someone, give a compliment, have lunch with a coworker. See how these small acts boost your mental health and have the added bonus of making a positive impact on others.

💡
The best part? The more we practice these small acts of kindness, the more likely they’ll become regular practices in our daily lives!

More importantly, check in on loved ones and ask them about how they’re doing. Talk to your kids, partners, friends, and parents about their mental health.

Checking in on others and talking about mental health leads to more awareness and discussions that might just make a life-changing difference. Learn more:
