As a student in the construction management program at University of Wisconsin-Stout, Abby Tolzman had the opportunity to tour numerous construction job sites. And the more she visited, the more she realized that she wanted a hands-on construction role rather than management.
A family friend working for Ames, Derek Peterson, was a great source for advice on how to get into the industry and join a union. Hired by Ames in 2022, Abby describes working through the SafeStart program under Foreman Jeff Bland as an “awesome” learning experience.
In her free time, she enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with friends. She is especially enjoying finding new places to fish in North Carolina when she’s not hard at work at the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite.
