"I truly feel like I am a part of this team.”
Mark Biloki was fascinated by construction as a child, and at age 16, he began working on housing tracts in the summer to earn spending money and learn about different trades. By the time he graduated high school, he was ready to jump into a construction career.
Mark says that it’s his Ames teammates and friends who make him want to get up and go to work each and every day. “I really enjoy getting out on the projects early in the mornings to meet with the crews and discuss the upcoming work, or sometimes we just talk about our families and what went on over the weekend.”
Although Ames is a large company, it has maintained the feel of a small, family-owned business, Mark says. “You are not just a number. You are a name with a face. The Ames folks welcomed me a long time ago. They’ve encouraged my growth by giving me opportunities that I may not have been given elsewhere. I truly feel like I am a part of this team.”
Mark and his wife have seven children—five daughters and two sons—and two granddaughters who bring joy to their lives. When he’s not at work, he enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, and just hanging out together with his family.
