James Panici
Joined Ames: June 4, 2003
Position: Structures Superintendent, Rio Bravo Bridge Replacement Project, New Mexico

James (Jimmy) Panici grew up in an Ames family—his dad (also named James) was a longtime equipment operator in the Rocky Mountain region. Jimmy was attending college and working at a gas station in 2003 when his dad suggested he come to work at Ames for the summer.

“It’s been a really long summer because I never left.”

Jimmy says the best part of working at Ames is the people—the many he’s met over the years and the friends he’s made. He’s especially proud to work in the industry when he sees finished projects he’s had a part in building.

Outside of work, Jimmy spends his time with his wife and friends, and he enjoys snowboarding, traveling, and watching football.
