James Thompson worked as a construction laborer as a teenager before joining the Navy. After his service he returned to construction, working as an operator and then progressing to the roles of foreman and superintendent. He joined Ames in 2014 when Terry Brennan hired him to join the California office.

Today, he serves as Operations Manager for the Arizona region, where he enjoys helping people grow in their positions. He also appreciates the opportunity to learn something new every day.

“I love seeing the work we do and what goes on behind the scenes that most people don’t get to see. I’m also proud to show my kids and grandkids what I have been a part of building.”

Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his wife and grandkids at the beach.
