Position: Construction Manager, Vernon Avenue/TH 100 Interchange project in Edina, Minnesota, and Merriam Junction Regional Trail project in Carver County, Minnesota
When Pat Edberg was a kindergartener, if you had asked him what he wanted to do when he grew up, his answer would have been to drive a red truck and work around big equipment. “I guess I never let go of that dream!” he says.
Pat came to Ames through a strong family connection. His dad, Rob, worked for Ames for 22 years as a regional safety manager. Pat started painting fences for the Ames Percheron Farm at age 14, and he interned for Ames while getting a degree in construction management. Pat has worked as a laborer, foreman, civil superintendent, and today, he’s a construction manager in the Central region.
He says that the work Ames does every day is critical to America’s success, which makes him especially proud to be a part of the construction industry.
“My coworkers are what drives me. Their success at work and in their personal lives is what makes Ames such an awesome place to be. We are a family that drives each other to be better every single day.”
Family and friends are important to Pat, and outside of work, he values spending time outdoors with his wife and three children. He also enjoys metal fabrication, diesel pickups, and building and improving his family’s property.
