Spread the Word about Driving Safely through Work Zones
It’s the start of construction season in many areas of the country, which means it’s time to remind drivers to use caution when traveling through work zones to decrease fatalities and injuries. We can all join in the mission of National Work Zone Awareness Week, April 17-21, to save lives.

Share the message of work zone safety!
Of the 857 people killed in work zone crashes in 2020, most were drivers, their passengers, and pedestrians. This year’s message tells drivers: “You play a role in work zone safety. Work with us.”
Motorists are encouraged to:
- Slow to posted speed limits.
- Eliminate distractions while driving.
- Be watchful for roadway workers and their equipment.
