Newly Awarded Project: Hyrum Dam

Sixty-Two: Ames News — delivered.

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation recently awarded a $115.9 million contract to Ames Federal Contracting Group for the construction of a new spillway at Hyrum Dam in northern Utah.

While Ames has performed many federal projects in the past, this is the first project officially awarded to the new Ames Federal Contracting Group. Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this win! 🎉

Built in 1935, Hyrum Dam plays a crucial role in storing water for irrigation and municipal use. However, despite continuous maintenance, its 90-year-old spillway needs to be replaced. To ensure safety and efficiency, Ames will also expand the dam’s outlet works, increasing discharge capacity from 50 to 200 cubic feet per second.
