Lake Havasu City, Arizona, has awarded Ames a project to build a second bridge and roadway network between the mainland and Lake Havasu Island via a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery method.
The new bridge will support emergency evacuation of the island community in case the existing London Bridge becomes unusable. The second bridge package will stretch from roadway alignments in Palo Verde South and London Bridge Road, crossing the new bridge and connecting to McCulloch Boulevard on the island. The bridge will incorporate sidewalks and bike lanes for connectivity and use by pedestrians.
Preconstruction and permitting is set for March 2025 to May 2026. Construction is planned for June 2026 to December 2027.
🎉 Congratulations to the Lake Havasu pursuit team!
