Newly Awarded Project: Mosier Siding Extension

Sixty-Two: Ames News — delivered.

Ames’ Mountain Office was recently awarded the Mosier Siding Extension project in Mosier, Oregon, about 70 miles east of Portland along the Columbia River and I-84 corridor.

This section of rail track carries about 24 trains per day and is considered a bottleneck for freight deliveries.  The Ames team will self-perform the structural components for the project, including:

  • Rock Creek Bridge (3 span)
  • Mosier Creek Bridge (4 span)
  • Pier protection
  • Retaining wall at Western Lake

A subcontractor will perform grading, aggregate, and drainage features on the project. The client will self-perform track installation.

The project features unique challenges regarding environmental compliance, tribal monitoring, and access. Jacobs Engineering has partnered with Ames to support permitting and environmental compliance.  Already underway administratively, the project is anticipated to break ground in January 2026, and construction will continue for one year.
