Newly Awarded Project: NGWSP Pumping Plant 1

Sixty-Two: Ames News — delivered.

Ames Federal will play a key role in the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project (NGWSP), a transformative infrastructure initiative led by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.

Ames Federal was awarded the contract for Pumping Plant 1 (PP1), located 13 miles west of Farmington, New Mexico. The pumping plant will serve as a critical component in delivering clean, reliable water to the eastern Navajo Nation, the Jicarilla Apache Nation, and the city of Gallup.

The NGWSP spans approximately 300 miles of pipeline, 19 pumping plants, and two water treatment facilities. Ames Federal’s contract for PP1 includes the construction of a 71-cubic-foot-per-second pumping facility that will intake water from the Frank Chee Willeto Reservoir and discharge it to the Reach 2 Pipeline enroute to the San Juan Lateral Water Treatment Plant.
