Newly Awarded Project: Queen Creek Bridge

Sixty-Two: Ames News — delivered.

Ames was recently awarded the contract to replace the historic Queen Creek Arch Bridge on U.S. Highway 60 east of Superior, Arizona.

As part of the project, Ames will also replace Waterfall Canyon Bridge and perform repairs to the Queen Creek Tunnel on Highway 60.

The new Queen Creek Bridge will be constructed just east of the existing bridge, which opened to traffic in 1949. The new bridge will span 763 feet with one travel lane in each direction and 4-foot-wide shoulders. The replacement structure for the Waterfall Canyon Bridge will span 107 feet and will be reconstructed in its existing location.

Work began in January and is set to continue through late 2026.
