Gerald Openshaw

Joined Ames: 1983
Position: Nevada Area Construction Manager

Gerald Openshaw joined Ames at a crucial moment in company history—the Intermountain Power Plant Project (IPP) in Delta, Utah, in 1983—along with several other pipe fitters who became longtime Ames employees.

Forty years later, he’s contributed to more Ames projects than can be mentioned. Like the IPP project, many of these projects are company milestones, including the Denver International Airport, Kennecott Copper Modernization, and Legacy Parkway. He’s ending his career as Nevada Area Construction Manager, and he says that the many Ames projects in Nevada will always stand out in his mind.

Gerald is looking forward to traveling with his wife, Marianne, and spending time with his four (soon to be five!) grandchildren.
