Karli Mikkola

Karli Mikkola joined Ames as a pipe crew superintendent in Utah during the Intermountain Power Project (IPP). “We installed 200,000 feet of pipe in just about two years, and that’s where it all began for me,” he says.

Karli helped contribute to Ames’ phenomenal growth as the company expanded into concrete structures, bridges, and mechanical pipe work. Besides helping to overcome challenges in the field, he has enjoyed teaching new generations of construction workers the ins and outs of the job.

“It’s not enough to say thanks to the Ames family and my coworkers. The people of Ames are true family and friends forever.”

Karli is looking forward to sleeping later than 3:30 a.m., spending more time with his grandkids, and attending more sporting events. He’s also planning to buy a new boat and become a “snow bird.”
