Congrats to Samantha Wood!

Sixty-Two: Ames News — delivered.

Ames’ Environmental Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Samantha Wood from the position of Operator to the new position of Environmental Technician, Southwest Region!

Sam has six years of experience with Ames Construction, working on diverse job sites from mines to roads and bridges. Her hard work, diligence, attention to detail, enthusiasm, commitment to safety, and rapport with fellow Ames crew members have all contributed to her success at Ames and make her a perfect fit for this new position.

Sam’s responsibilities include routine and post-storm construction site environmental inspections and reporting, spill reporting, and documentation. She will promote sustainability best practices and interface with on-site state agency inspection officials when they are present during her inspections. She works closely with Phil Ryder, Environmental Manager, Southwest Region.

“It’s a big change, and I am excited and welcome the new challenges and learning opportunities my new position offers. This is one of the biggest accomplishments in my working career.”
