In Memoriam

Ronald Lee Ames

One of the founding pillars of Ames Construction passed away unexpectedly Sept. 9, 2024. Ron Ames' light and passion continue to shine in all of us as we grieve, reflect, and mourn the loss of this extraordinary person.

Ron joined the family construction business in 1968 after graduating high school. He devoted his entire life to expanding our great company. As the company grew, Ron led the Midwest Region through multiple challenges and many successes.

Ron was a builder. He was nonstop, and he cared deeply for the people of Ames. He could often be heard saying, “Boots on the ground,” which epitomizes his care for people. He believed and lived by meeting people wherever they stood.

Those who were fortunate enough to know or work alongside Ron will remember his outstretched welcoming hand, quick wit and smile, and passion for construction.

Ron believed in his heart that the great people of Ames have been key to its success. He was equally convinced that its people—each and every one of you—will be the key to Ames’ future success.

His contributions to our people, communities, partners, and clients set an example for all of us. His wisdom and guidance will be sorely missed.

What makes this company different is that we are all treated as family, and with that in mind, we ask that you keep his immediate family and work family in your thoughts and prayers throughout this difficult time.
